Nis Cemetery

A view of homes of up to 500 Gypsies, or Roma, from the
southern Serbian city of Nis, south of Belgrade. The
homes have been built on top of one of the oldest Jewish
cemeteries in the Balkans. The local Gypsies started
building their houses on the 17-century graveyard back in
the 1950s', first erecting makeshift, temporary buildings,
which, as the time passed, turned into of concrete and brick
homes.
